Inventure Academy reopens with Inventuring

A new academic session at Inventure Academy does not start with books, uniforms or in classrooms but with Inventuring - a unique foundation program aimed at cementing bonds between teachers and students, making new students comfortable and setting the key note for expectations at Inventure Academy.


Students engage in projects – both single and in groups – and experience first hand, the creative process, thinking-out- of- the- box and being active participants in a team. The hidden agenda is helping students realize their inner potential, making them believe in themselves, understanding ways of true learning and respecting interdependence.

Designed on Howard Gardener’s theory of Multiple Intelligences and Inventure’s core values , the 2011-12 ‘Inventuring’ starts with a daily schedule of students participating in four broad categories- Outdoor, Classroom Projects, Choice Time and Golden Time.


During Inventuring, each day started with an outdoor activity, like dance or sports, to kick-start mental and physical agility and facilitating team bonding. This was followed with classroom projects based on exploring Multiple Intelligences (MI) of students.

The classroom projects on multiple intelligences had larger themes like Creative Sparks, Think-a thon under which students were tasks specific to their grades.

As usual we will kick off the year with Inventuring - our unique foundation-orientation programme. Students need to wear hardy casual clothes, sneakers or trainers, and bring cap, water bottle, notebook and a writing implement. Please note: uniform is not required for the first week of school.

INVENTURING the Foundation Programme: 6 – 10 June 2011 for Grades 1to 12. For more information, please click on http://www.inventureacademy.com/inventuring.htm. For Inventuring- it is suggested that students wear casuals that are okay to get paint and mud on. Includes a Sleepover at school for students of grade 3 up. Once school starts, your child will bring home a consent slip including a list of things to be brought for the sleepover. Faculty members stay also, and it is a tremendous bonding experience.

PARENT ORIENTATION SESSIONS Parents are encouraged to attend the orientation sessions if they have not been to one before. Information is shared, expectations are set and clarity achieved.

Kindergarten Orientation – 7th June 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

Primary School Orientation – 17th June 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

Middle and Secondary School Orientation- 17th June 2011 at 9:00 a.m.

SCHOOL BUSES will run on last year's timings for morning pick up on 6 June 2010. It would be best if new students were dropped off at school by parents in morning, and they could home on the school bus - thereby verifying pick-up/drop points and timings. Please expect bus routes by 3 June 2011 via email. The new routes will be effective from 6 June 2010 afternoon route. Please note that timings will take some time to settle down. You will have the phone number of the bus and can check time of arrival on that number. Eventually there will be a GPS alert signaling arrival of the bus.

Those who will not be using the bus services need to inform the school of the driver name/car registration number.

SCHOOL TIMINGS: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

BOOKS & STATIONERY Will be delivered to students in the first week at school .

UNIFORMS for the academic year 2010-11. UNIFORM IN A BOX will be doing our uniforms this year. While the basic look remains the same, the vendor will be different. You will be required to make one trip to their outlet in Whitefield / Bellary Road to get the sizing done. Your order will be delivered to your home by courier. Subsequent orders may be placed online.

Once classes start on June 13th, it is expected that students will observe the uniform code.

Section allocations will be intimated by the end of Inventuring.

Prerana Prasad, the school topper of ICSE exams 2011 scored 91.2%. She talks about her mantra of success.

“I am really glad at my performance and that I topped my class. My mantra of success was being regular in class work and achieving my set benchmarks. As part of the assessment process at Inventure Academy, we as students, set benchmarks for our performance which is revisited by both students and our teachers and parents every month.

My teachers not only worked with all of us very closely, giving each one of us a lot of individual attention but gently raised my benchmark and discussed about my performance and the way forward with my parents at the regular Parent Teacher Meetings in the year.

This instilled in me great level of confidence and helped me to focus on my goal.

My future plans: I am keen on pursuing my career in Corporate Law as Economics has to play a big role in India in the near future."

Inventure Academy's Graduating Batch of 2010-11

Many a young mind seeks to pursue its very own dream,

Many a fervent heart yearns to find its unique stream,

To each is the thought of freedom an intoxicating and alluring promise,

Yet the memories of days gone by are not of bondage, but a period that they will sorely miss!

We are on the threshold of igniting a tradition at Inventure Academy, as we prepare to hand over our first batch of Grade 12’s to the world and its many opportunities. The fledglings have grown and are now in readiness to continue their journey through life with newly bestowed independence and hopefully, a heightened sense of responsibility.

We are also felicitating the passage of the Grade 10 batch to their last phase of schooling – and through this, we recognize that they too are grown and worthy of consideration as young adults. In a way, it is a feeling of great pride that we experience today as we witness the coming of age of the saplings that were planted, nurtured and cared for over the past few years.

To the Graduates, I have this to say…

For those of you who will travel far and wide and enter different environments and climates, the questions that are raised about leading the right life and a successful life will remain uppermost. I trust there are creative ways of living in the world, of finding a means of livelihood that nourishes and does not destroy and that makes possible for young people to find their calling with a sense of integrity. Eighteen-year olds the world over are faced with tremendous expectations, from family as well as society. To be able to stand on your own, find yourself before you look for support from without; make it a point to be in company that glorifies your strengths and helps erode your shortcomings; decide upon a value system that defines you and will stand you in good stead no matter what the external influences. Let your identity be evident in your words, your actions and in your interactions with people. At every step, let peace be your umpire.

To excel is to be the best in every way. Ambition to excel is a crucial feature of a leader – and the future belongs to the leader who is willing to take risks and break boundaries.

However, in a competitive world, it is easy to let our focus remain purely on achievement and on moving up the ladder of material success. As Inventurers, your challenge lies in ensuring that you embody the values of excellence, integrity, sensitivity, dynamism, individuality and teamwork while in pursuit of your goals, for these qualities will separate you from the chaff, will make you an asset to any institution, and will take you beyond your dreams.

What lies ahead is bound only by one’s aspirations and by the design of a greater plan in which each of us has a specific role to play. As you bid goodbye to the security of these portals and welcome tomorrow with open arms, it is my sincere wish that each one of your dreams finds fruition. In your success lies ours, in your commitment to excellence lies the key to a life filled with promise, opportunity and growth.
